Why am I a makeup artist?
I've told this story hundreds of times. However, it's my why story and I'll never tire of it.
I had horrible skin. For years! I battled acne for approximately 10 years. I saw numerous dermatologists, specialists, and tried everything, and I mean everything out there.
It wasn't until I went to school to be an esthetician that my skin cleared. I owe my face and how it looks now, to an amazing woman who inspired me beyond measure. She passed recently, and I still feel just as much gratitude today as I did 8 years ago.
I had gotten so good at covering my own skin up, makeup came very naturally to me. Skin- is my forever passion project. I truly believe a makeup application relies heavily on how believable you can make the skin look.
After working at Sephora, I knew freelance was where my true passion was.
I'll never forget, that at one point, I had hoped to be where I am today. I'm living exactly the life I dreamed of.
Turn your setbacks into motivation.
Having acne was only a tool to get me to where I was today. I grew From it, and now I can turn my experience into expertise.
