Shoutout to Glenn Hansen, Virtual Coaching Client in Australia. Glenn has lived a long competitive athletic career. When he started with Kabuki, he had on going issues in his knees, low back, shoulders, and wrists from years of wear and tear. With weeks of work on movement drills and consistency with his training cycle, Glenn got himself back in an athlete mindset and competed in a powerlifting meet. Best part? His nagging injuries/pain that limited him from progressing in past training cycles didn't hold him back during training leading up to the meet and he hit personal and comp PBs! Nice work Glenn. The Kabuki Team is rooting for you! •••••
Word from Glenn: "So, first of all, I wanted to say thank you. It has been the most refreshing experience in the last 5 years to be treated as an athlete. The focus on movement has been awesome and it has worked. I have looked for more than 5 years for someone who could actually give me feedback on lifting that I did not think was just about lifting heavy, but more about how it was done. This, for me has been something that has made this coaching experience worth every cent........ Just little things like the fact I can go out and squat the next day after deadlifting now, without being worried about my back, as it is just not an issue. Squatting within 20kg of a PB for doubles the day after deadlifting a training cycle PB is so great to be able to do. And to be able to bench twice a week at good intensity. I used to worry with 100kg, and now I know I can just do this without having to have someone spot me like my shoulder is going to pass out... the result of the comp does not necessarily matter, as it's the feeling I can get when I lift now." 🏆
