Day 3 tomorrow for #YogiFlyGirls! #ekapadakoundinyasana 1 or 2. ✨✨✨You've got to start somewhere and the only place to start is where you're at. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨Because of the strength they require arm balances can be very frustrating and humbling. They require steady work and dedication. Sometimes it's a matter of just getting the right placement of an arm or leg with the right energetic engagement and everything clicks. It's also a slow and steady slog of practice, practice, practice, with no shortcuts. So don't get discouraged, be curious, be determined, be patient. .
They are called arm balances but they're more about core strength, so fire up that core any way you can with plank work, boat pose, forearm plank, side plank. .
What is kind of cool though is that when you get the basics down : like crow, side crow, forearm stand... you can build on those to work into more and more arm balances.
For EPK 1 make sure you've done lots of twists, core work, and hamstring openers. Start from side crow and then extend the legs strongly in either direction and push the floor away. See my beautiful co-hosts for other versions!! Hosts:
