Today marks the 16th anniversary of 9/11.
16 years ago to date, a group of 19 Islamic terrorist bordered several air planes and continued to hijack said planes. They had multiple targets, but only hit four. The two buildings of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. This attack killed 2,996 ppl and injured 6,000 more. With the help of first responders from all over the United States, including firefighters, police officers, EMT/Paramedic staff, and even veterans and current soldiers, casualties were decreased and more survivors came up over time.
These numbers do not take into account the men and women of our United States Military and their respective branch. Thousands died overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting against Islamic extremist and other groups.
This is why we stand. We stand because of our first responders and our military. We stand because of patriotism. We stand because sometimes these veterans, soldiers, first responders, and everyone in between can't.
I ask that you stand up, face the flag, cover your heart, remain silent, and stand for the national anthem.
Never Forget. 9/11. 🇺🇸🚒🚑👮🚨🚓🚔 God Bless America.
